Our Horses

Every Penny Counts (Penny)
15 year old Quarter Horse mare, chestnut/sorrel. Works well for independent riders, “prima-donna”, loves trail rides, requires a lot of therapy due to lameness issues so is not as active in lessons as some of our other horses.

Festus
38 year old mixed breed, gelding, bay. Great for everything, he likes to play ‘tricks’ on new volunteers to see how much they really want him to do what they are asking, provides entertainment during lessons by walking with his tongue sticking out.

Akwa
31 year old Arabian gelding, bay. Everyone loves him what else can we say!

Blue Boy
34 year old Miniature horse, gelding, white. Public relations liaison, and travels all over with our Mobile Equestrian Outreach.

Roxie
19 year old Quarter horse cross, mare, bay. Formerly shown hunter / jumper, good with the students, works hard in lessons, most of the time she wants to be the boss.

Carey
21 year old Arabian cross, chestnut with white flecks on back Former hunter / jumper show pony, LOVES to jump, sometimes shy but once she knows the person she loves the attention, great in lessons.

Macadoo
22 year old Welch gelding, black, loves any attention he can get. Everyone wants to cuddle with him, very energetic little guy, good in lessons, blind in his right eye.

Joe
27 year old Belgian Draft gelding, palomino, former police horse for Virginia Beach mounted patrol, a big ‘softie’. He is great for lessons, enjoys being groomed so much he often falls asleep.
