Team-HAV-with-EQUI-KIDS-Horse-HopperGolf Open Raises Over $45,000 for Individuals with Special Needs

EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Riding Program hosted its 19th Annual Golf Open on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Bayville Golf Club in Virginia Beach. With a sellout tournament of 120 players, this annual signature event raised $47,835 to support the organization’s mission to provide services to individuals with disabilities. The Golf Open also featured team photos with EQUI-KIDS’ Horse Hopper, a silent auction and raffle prizes!

“What a great day at Bayville!” commented Jill Haag, Executive Director. “We are thrilled to see the continued growth of the Golf Open and we are tremendously grateful to all of our sponsors and players. This year we celebrated the 19th anniversary of this premier fundraising event, and it just keeps getting better each year!”

EQUI-KIDS is proud to recognize Merrill Lynch Wealth Management as Presenting Sponsor, as well as TowneBank, Southern Auto Group, Chartway Federal Credit Union, The Goddard School, Customer Magnetism, Atlantic Commercial Real Estate Services, Inc., Cameron Chemicals, Inc., Monarch Mortgage, HAV, Inc., MHI, Endurance IT Services, Farm Bureau Live Premium Seats, and TFA Benefits.

The Golf Open was one of the organization’s first fundraising events, established in 1994, to support EQUI-KIDS and its programs to provide, promote and support equine assisted activities for individuals who have mental, physical, emotional, social or learning disabling conditions; giving special needs riders the opportunity to experience a world free from disability.
