EQUI-KIDS is home to a beautiful herd of horses who are housed in a 24-acre barn on our 92-acre property. While some of the horses belong to EQUI-KIDS, most are loaned to us by their generous owners. Each week our team of hardworking horses provides riding lessons and other equine-assisted activities to a diverse group of riders. Our programs offer support to individuals with disabilities such as Down syndrome, autism, spina bifida, multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, amputation, mental and physical disabilities, attention deficit disorder and more.
In order to be Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH) certified, each horse must go through an onboarding process of specialized training and trials, as well as each instructor receiving additional training in order to meet the specific needs of each individual and their specific and unique diagnoses.
Through your generous donations and these special animals, our community is changing. Individuals who may face our world with challenges and fears are finding a place where they are accepted and can begin to see what amazing potential lies within each of them. For interest in supporting our hardworking herd, horse sponsorships are available.
