EQUI-KIDS Therapeutic Riding Program was honored to receive a $5,000 grant from Virginia Natural Gas, a subsidiary of parent company, AGL Resources. The partnership with Virginia Natural Gas and EQUI-KIDS was established four years ago when the charity received a gift of $2,000 to support its program services that exclusively serves individuals with disabilities.
“It is wonderful to see large companies such as Virginia Natural Gas give back to support the community at the local level” says EQUI-KIDS’ Executive Director, Jill Haag. “This year we were grateful to have team members from Virginia Natural Gas visit the farm and volunteer for the day. It was a great way for them to see firsthand the impact their financial support has and how it can change the life of a person with a disability.”
AGL Resources is dedicated to supporting the community through its charitable outreach. Its philanthropic focus is designed to make a meaningful impact on the community, the financial support of this community partner means a great deal for EQUI-KIDS.
Virginia Natural Gas has a longstanding tradition of serving the community for more than 150 years.
“We’re proud to be strengthening our relationship with EQUI-KIDS,” said George Faatz, director of external affairs for Virginia Natural Gas. “Both Virginia Natural Gas and EQUI-KIDS are committed to taking the necessary steps – both big and small – to enriching the communities we serve, and our continuing support of the therapeutic riding program is our opportunity to embrace that philosophy.”
